Dear Sir/Madam,
My interest in Information technology began when I was a senior in high school and studied for my university entrance exams. I studied a programming language equivalent to Pascal, but with the programming commands in Greek. I was so excited and intrigued with the logic behind programming, that I claimed the highest grade I could get, which is 20.
Even though I had a passion for IT, I decided to study Economics, as I also equally liked the relevant lesson. So, I studied Economics in UoM and when I graduated, I decided to get specialized in Information Technology, through a master’s degree. I am a disciplined and mentally inquisitive individual, always striving to operate in a results-oriented manner.
My BSc in Economics in UoM honed my critical thinking development, analytical skills and taught me to develop appropriate mathematical programming models for micro and macro applications. It also taught me how to analyze the economic interpretation of numerical results, how to identify conditions under which these models can be optimally solved and how to identify the optimal solution.
On my post graduate journey in Applied Informatics, I learned programming languages and how to use statistic programs and information systems. My favorite subjects were those which had to do with statistics, simulation and programming. I was also called to apply object-oriented analysis and design techniques to approach the development of a software system, as well as identify the development stages of a large-scale software project.
Additionally, I was taught to understand cloud computing technologies, applications and services, data center architectures, model, manage and analyze relational data. During my studies, I perceived the enormous opportunities presented today by creating a digital business and understood the impact of ICT and the Internet in the economy.
I would like to thank you for considering my application and I look forward to hearing from you soon. Yours faithfully, Diggelidou Kyriaki
