Job Description

Who We Are

The HOME Project is a non-profit organization that has provided relief to more than 1000 lone refugee children in Greece. Through a network of child protection services via an individual development plan that includes mental health, educational, social, pedagogical and legal support, we aim to provide a home for every unaccompanied refugee child that arrives in Greece. Our additional programs include professional training and internship opportunities for the children, funding partnerships with similarly-focused international humanitarian aid organizations, and participation at high-level dialogues at worldwide summits raising awareness and support for lone refugee children.

Job Description

Due to increasing demand of services in our shelters, we are delightful to announce a new job opening. We welcome Caregivers only for night shifts who want to join our team on full-time basis. We are looking for professionals who have previous experience working with children and are able to work in Athens Greece. Specifically, they will work in our shelters exclusively in night shifts and work with the children who live in.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide daily support to children under our care through the guidance of the shelter coordinator and our Child Protection Unit
  • Conduct shelter housekeeping, food provision and any other basic housekeeping, ad hoc tasks needed for shelter operation and implementation of child protection individual development plans
  • Participate in weekly staff supervision, staff meetings and child protection capacity building sessions as part of his/her duties
  • Reporting to shelter coordinator and Child Protection Unit

Requirements:

  • Shares our values and cares about the children affected by this crisis
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Previous experience working with children and adults
  • Previous experience in working with a diverse cultural diverse environment
  • Is deeply committed to seeing this organization succeed
  • Can wear many hats while maintaining a strong sense of direction and vision
  • Reliable, committed and loyal
  • Has a problem-solving attitude
  • Able to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos
  • Knowledge of the Greek and English language
  • Additional languages will be considered an asset
