Job Description
GRNET holds a key role in implementing Greece’s digital transformation goals (gov.gr), as well as developing and promoting network and computing technologies and applications for the academic and scientific community.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Geographical Information Systems / Geoinformatics Expert to join our team and help us advance our organization's goals through the use of cutting-edge technology. As a Junior GIS/Geoinformatics Expert, you will be responsible for assisting in the design, development, and implementation of GIS solutions and technologies. You will play an important role in supporting the Senior GIS Experts in the delivery of GIS projects, data management and analysis, and the deployment of new technologies.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of Geographical Information Systems and Geoinformatics
- Experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, OsGeo software stack or similar
- Familiarity with cloud computing technology and GIS cloud deployment
- Experience with spatial data analysis and mapping
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, SQL, or similar
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and project management techniques
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and tools quickly
