Job Description

ManpowerGroup, on behalf of its client, a luxurious 4* Hotel Resort in Kefalonia, is in search of an Operations Manager to undertake the effective operation of all departments and workflow, in order to achieve customer service at its best.

Contract: Indefinite duration, throughout the year (the hotel operates from May October)

Responsibilities:

The job holder will represent the company towards vendors, clients and authorities and ensure that the property complies with all rules and legislations. He/She will also be responsible for maximising revenues and cost efficiency, through effective teamwork and optimized work processes.

More specifically she/he will be:

  • Managing the day-to day operations of the hotel, assigning responsibilities, supervising the team members and checking their performance
  • Clearly describing, assigning, and delegating responsibility and authority for the operation of the various Famp;B outlets (dine around concept) such as a la carte, all day beach bar, hotel buffet, bar etc
  • Liaising with the Executive Chef on daily operations and quality control
  • Leading by example demonstrating self-confidence, energy, enthusiasm
  • Assisting employees in understanding guests’ ever-changing needs and expectations, and exceeding them
  • Providing excellent customer service by being readily available/approachable for all guests and staff
  • Maintaining proactive and customer-oriented approach when dealing with guest concerns
  • Ensuring all team members meet all hospitality requirements
  • Understanding financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data
  • Interviewing and assisting in making hiring decisions
  • Staying current with industry trends and monitoring strengths and weakness of competition
  • Reviewing business related data such as market share, financial performance, inventory, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction
  • Verifying property compliance with legal, safety, operations, labour product and service standards
  • Conducting detailed walk-throughs, ensuring building, public areas, kitchen, and grounds are well-maintained, safe, and meeting or exceeding guest expectations
  • Validating that employees are appropriately trained and performing to standard
  • Ensuring that all team members understand the resort's service culture, standards and procedures, that they are well-groomed and that high standards of personal hygiene are maintained at all times
  • Having a complete understanding of and adhere to the hotel's policy relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety and training the team members accordingly
  • Ensuring that stock for all operating equipment and supplies are strictly adhered to and that all outlets are adequately equipped
  • Liaising with the Purchase Department to ensure all orders are in place
  • Assisting in controlling the requisitioning, storage and careful use of all operating equipment and supplies

Requirements

  • Degree in Hospitality/Tourism
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as Operations Manager in a 4 - 5* hotel environment
  • Experience with Famp;B will be a must
  • Excellent command of Greek and English
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office, PMS software (preferably Protel), P.O.S. system, ERP and Materials Control
  • Proactive, able to work efficiently under pressure, to make decisions and come up with effective solutions
  • Hands-on approach, flexible, with a positive attitude
  • Strong leadership, team-building skills, available to staff and guests
  • With good numerical, organizational and time management skills.
  • Refined communication and public relations skills and with a strong customer-focused approach
