Job Description

Main responsibility of the ideal candidate is to effectively manage amp; administrate the IPMPLS transport network, in a way that all requested services (mobile data/voice, corporate circuits) are delivered within agreed performance and resilience guidelines. Part of the team’s responsibility is the IP MPLS transport network design within the context of a shared IP transport which serves 2 MNOs in a multivendor environment.

Cooperation with other Design amp; Engineering teams is required in order to carry out and put in effect relevant capacity expansion plans (FO transport, MW Access amp; Provisioning, CC handling teams) as well as with FO implementation teams and transport operations that handle the actual implementation of any Damp;E team work order. The engineer will report to the capacity Planning amp; Backhauling Supervisor as a member of the Capacity Planning amp; Backhauling team.


  • Administrate IP transport design and network design for optimum transport performance
  • Look forward for optimization and incorporation of technology evolution in Transport domain
  • Assist in Capacity planning and backhauling tasks (NW monitoring, reporting, NMS dataset handling)
  • Incorporate new technologies/protocols in the network design (e.g. QoS issues, IPv6, direct X2 etc.)
  • Able to handle/understand HLD documents and support HLD and LLD creation when needed
  • NW resource dimensioning in terms of IP MPLS transport needs on an annual basis
  • Use of tools to monitor and analyze specific performance trends (e.g. QoS based KPIs, dependencies between metrics etc.)


  • BS/MSC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (at least 5 year course) or Physics with Specialization on Telecoms/Digital Communications/Information technology/Mobile communications
  • Good Knowledge of TCP/IP and OSI models
  • Having at least one of the following certifications or having equivalent competencies: Cisco CCNA, Juniper JNCIS
  • Knowledge of BGP routing protocols L2 switching and IPv4 and IPv6 subnetting and networking
  • Good Knowledge of QoS mechanisms
  • Knowledge on basic transport technologies (MW systems, SDH, Ethernet and packet technologies)
  • Good knowledge on IP/MPLS systems
  • Knowledge of basic RAN architectures (2G/3G/4G)
  • Good command in Greek/English language (Fluent Oral and Written)
  • Excellent Communication (written /verbal)
  • Highly organized and able to work in a multi-tasking environment
  • Able to perform under pressure amp; meet deadlines
  • Analytical thinking and innovative initiatives are considered as major qualification
