About the role
We are looking for a talented Web Developer to contribute to the efforts of our website team to create a great experience for our users, customers, candidates and HTB fans! We want our website to excite all these stakeholders, just like our gamified cybersecurity training platform does. The Web Developer will work closely with designers and marketing to collect requirements and turn them into responsive web pages that are aligned with our brand and business priorities. With the expertise derived from the senior engineer, the website team will create a new CMS, that will enable the marketing team to work more autonomously on day to day tasks and the engineering team to focus on brand new projects.

Hack The Box is a massive hacking playground, and infosec community of over 1.0m platform members who learn, hack, play, exchange ideas and methodologies. We are an online cybersecurity training platform that allows individuals, businesses, universities, and all kinds of organizations all around the world to level up their offensive and defensive security skills through a fully gamified and engaging learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Create website layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS and some Javascript practices, also utilising bootstrap in Laravel Blade Templates
- Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
- Contribute in PHP development and CMS features using Laravel Framework
- Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
- Create and maintain software documentation
- Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our website cooperating with cross-functional teams
- Cooperate with designers and marketing to match visual design and product intent analytics team to track user actions and copy team for content adjustments
Requirements
- 1 - 2 years of working experience in web programming
- In-depth knowledge of modern HTML/CSS
- Familiarity with Javascript and PHP
- A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices
- Solid understanding of relational database systems
- Strong experience implementing responsive designs
- Basic knowledge of SEO on-site best practices
- Bachelor in computer science or a related field will be highly appreciated
- Attention to detail will add extra points to your application
- Experience with any CMS of the market is a great plus
