We are looking for a highly motivated lawyer to join our Legal Department as an Associate Legal Counsel in our office in Piraeus, Greece.
This role is new within Navarino and will report to our Legal Counsel.
What will you be doing?
- Provide accurate and timely legal advice to business stakeholders on a variety of legal topics (commercial law, corporate law, labour law, data protection law, intellectual property law etc.)
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating all types of contracts, including vendor, customer and reseller agreements, non-disclosure agreements, contract amendments and renewals, statements of work, data processing agreements, etc., for business stakeholders in various company locations.
- Ensure compliance with contract approval policies and procedures.
- Serve as a contact between the Legal Department and internal stakeholders seeking contract review and revision, questions, status updates etc.
- Participate as a stakeholder in other departmental projects as a subject matter expert for legal matters.
- Developing, improving, and implementing internal policies, plans, standard/recurring processes and best practices for the organization and seamless operation of the Legal Department.
Requirements
- Qualified to practice in Greece, with a law degree from a Greek university and with at least 3 years of proven experience in a commercial company or in a law firm dealing with commercial and corporate matters.
- Strong commercial contracts experience, ideally including information technology, general commercial (goods and services), and intellectual property.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures.
- Full professional proficiency in English.
- Advanced experience with MS Office.
- Independent, goal-oriented and systematic way of working.
- Strong change and project management skills, including the ability to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines.
- Well-developed and professional interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the company.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion.
Nice to have
- A Master of Laws (LL.M.) in shipping, IT or telecommunications law.
- Work experience in shipping, IT or telecommunications law.
- A law degree from a UK university and/or dual qualification as an English solicitor.
