Our Legal team is looking for a motivated Senior Legal Counsel to join us, focusing on legal and compliance issues in order to ensure that our business processes and transactions follow all relevant legal requirements and internal guidelines. Part of your day to day will be to support the company's functions relating to its business partners and users, address projects from a legal aspect, monitor legal issues in the food delivery industry and analyze e-commerce legal matters. Your goal will be to ensure we operate in a legal and ethical manner while meeting our global business objectives.
What you’ll do:
- Provide accurate and timely legal advice to business stakeholders on a variety of legal topics (commercial law, corporate law, consumer law, civil law etc.);
- Research and analyze the implication of existing and upcoming laws and regulations that may affect the organization;
- Apply effective risk management techniques and implement mitigating actions on possible legal issues;
- Draft and solidify agreements, contracts, and other legal documents to protect company’s full legal rights;
- Participate as stakeholder in other departmental projects as a subject matter expert for legal and compliance matters;
- Address ad-hoc legal and compliance issues as appropriate, within the local compliance framework and support business stakeholders in understanding compliance-related risks;
- Handle the formal communication with the authorities, regulators and other third parties and contribute to any legal negotiations.
What you’ll need:
- At least 6 years of proven experience as a Lawyer in a commercial company or in a Law Firm dealing with commercial and corporate matters. Big4 or large law firm experience will be considered as an asset
- Bachelor’s in Law (LLB) from a top tier University. A Master of Laws (LLM) would be considered as an advantage
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of Greek commercial and company law
- Very good understanding of the regulations applicable to e-commerce business environment, particularly new and upcoming regulations in applicable jurisdiction
- Proof of ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies
- Familiarity with industry practices and professional standards
- Independent, goal-oriented and systematic way of working
- Attention to detail and be able to demonstrate an analytical mind
- Clear and concise verbal and written skills
- Strong team player
- Organizational skills with an ability to manage priorities, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent English language skills
- Demonstrate integrity and professional ethics
- Ambition to work in a dynamic, fast paced work environment
