We are currently recruiting for a Group Head of Accounting amp; Controlling to join our Group Finance Team based in Athens.
The Group Head of Accounting amp; Controlling will undertake to set-up and supervise Group-wide policies, processes and systems in the accounting, controls and financial reporting areas while also directly managing respective functions for HQs, Greece, Poland and Romania operations.
The Group Head of Accounting amp; Controlling reports directly to the CFO.
Your Key Responsibilities will be to:
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial reports
- Review the consolidated financial statements and quarterly reports for the Board and other stakeholders
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts
- Assist with annual audit preparations
- Manage all accounting operations (A/R, A/P, GL, Cost/ Inventory Accounting, etc)
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance with IFRS and statute
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes
- Manage compliance with statutory reporting requirements and tax filings in cooperation with external Tax Accountant
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls for all countries in which the company operates
- Establish audit processes and relationships with external auditors
Requirements
- Accounting amp; Finance graduate studies from a top-tier University
- Postgraduate studies and/ or ACCA accreditation are highly appreciated
- 7+ years of overall combined Accounting, Controlling and Financial Reporting experience with: i) overviewing all accounting procedures (ie A/P, A/R amp; GL), ii) financial reporting under IFRS (Pamp;L, balance sheet, cash flow statements and other financial notes)
- Experience in the use of ERP systems
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Hands-on approach with exceptional analytical skills
- Ability to direct and supervise
- Excellent command of the English language both written and oral
- Efficiency in communication and collaboration across teams amp; functions
