Job Description

Who We Are

The HOME Project is a non-profit organization that has provided relief to more than 900 lone refugee children in Greece. Through a network of child protection services via an individual development plan that includes mental health, educational, social, pedagogical and legal support, we aim to provide a home for every unaccompanied refugee child that arrives in Greece. Our additional programs include professional training and internship opportunities for the children, funding partnerships with similarly focused international humanitarian aid organizations, and participation in high-level dialogues at worldwide summits raising awareness and support for lone refugee children.

Job Description

The Program Officer will be working under the supervision of the Program Manager amp; the Head of HR in for several projects enhancing the performance of the organization. She/He will support the management team in project implementation, monitoring, reporting and evaluation. She/he will be responsible for administrative tasks (such as filing, preparing reports, handling mail) and for promoting the services of THP through increasing awareness on online channels. We are looking for an organized, problem-solving, multi-tasking, individual with great attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, and excellent organizational skills who is particularly passionate about assisting refugee children and who is up for rolling up their sleeves and wearing the many hats needed to support the smooth operation of The HOME Project.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Performing administrative, managerial, and professional duties under the general supervision of the Program Manager amp; the Head of HR
  • Supporting the planning and implementation of programs, developing external relationships, and resolving problems via all forms of communication
  • Undertaking clerical tasks such as filing, preparing reports, handling mail and basic bookkeeping
  • Manage and monitor grants and prepare funding reports for management and donors.
  • Assists during the pre and post-hiring process as well in the orientation and onboarding process
  • Assist in shifts and payroll administration as backup
  • Handling communications with external partners, supporters
  • Answering queries by employees, partners and supporters
  • Liaising with all levels of the organization to make decisions for operational activities
  • Completing ad hoc Executive requests


Requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or a related field
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in similar roles
  • Master degree in MBA, Human Recourses Management, Marketing or a closely related discipline will be considered an asset
  • Experience of working with donor-funded projects will have an added advantage
  • Outstanding writing, re-writing and editing skills
  • Excellent communication, and presentation skills, in Greek and English, both written and oral
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and deal with a variety of tasks
  • Experience of working in a multicultural environment
