About the role
We are looking for an Electronic / Electrical Engineer @ Telecom networks that provides the knowledge and skill to support Field and Fiber Optic Operations and especially troubleshoots amp; fiber optic failures across Greek territory of both fixed and mobile network.
The job holder Engineer will be responsible for fiber optic network high availability and be accountable to fiber optic network owners.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with subcontractors and act as technical advisor on a construction scene
- Manage end to end complicated failures on both fiber optic and copper network along with subcontractors
- Provide smart, fast, standardized end efficient permanent or temporary workarounds
- Ensure that all materials were used and failure recovery tasks were performed as per specifications and according to SLAs
- Analyze the construction documents provided for a fiber optic or copper network failure
- Manage on site/on field measurements with relevant equipment
- Prepare reports and technical evaluation concerning contractors’ performance as well as keep track of KPIs
- Survey and supervise on-site works
- Maintain documentation and records relevant to fiber optic failure incident
- Collaborate with fiber optic network owners effectively
- Update data, documents and maps of the fiber optic network
- Work on stand-by duty
Requirements
- BSc degree in Electronic / Electrical Engineering specialized in Telecom and fiber optic networks
- 4-5 years of work experience on fiber optic and copper networks
- High level of proficiency with fiber optic construction software tools (WebCIT, FOMMS, FWS etc)
- Experience with lasers, optical fabrication, and/or optical testing, construction materials will be considered as a plus
- The ability to effectively communicate in English both in verbal and written
- Driving license
- Strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to multitask, partner across organizations, and proactively address issues in a fast paced, high volume environment
- Excellent time management skills
- Effective communicator with good interpersonal skills
