Job Description


GRNET National Infrastructures for Research and Technology, provides networking and cloud computing services to academic and research institutions, to educational bodies at all levels, and to agencies of the public, broader public and private sector. It is responsible for promoting and disseminating network and computing technologies and applications, as well as for promoting and implementing Greece’s Digital Transformation goals. With twenty-plus years’ experience in the fields of advanced network, cloud computing and IT infrastructures and services, and significant international presence, GRNET shall advise the Ministry of Digital Governance on issues relating to the design of advanced information systems and infrastructures.

GRNET develops synergies with other agencies which provide digital services in the Greek public sector, by sharing best practices and know-how on advanced information systems. It contributes to the country’s Digital Transformation via in-depth analysis, technological studies, standard solutions and specialized know-how, serving at the same time hundreds of thousands of users on a daily basis in the strategic fields of Public Administration, Education, Research, Health and Culture.

In order to reach its goals, GRNET undertakes projects, initiatives and other activities related to information technology, digital technology, communication, e-governance, new and open technologies, including new big data technologies, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and in general, to the promotion, dissemination and transfer of know-how regarding network and computing technologies and their applications, to research and development, education and to the promotion of Digital Transformation.

In light of the above we are looking for a passionate Information System Analyst, who will work on the analysis and design of digital services and / or systems that support the digital transformation of public government (PG). The analysts will undertake the monitoring of one of the sectors of public governance in terms of good practices, reusable solutions and data. Will also analyse the interoperability needs and uncover the opportunities to (re)design PG processes.

Selected candidates will depict and analyze the business flows behind the operational processes and will provide suggestions for improvement (Business Process Analysis / Re-engineering), will identify the needs for change and will assess the impact of changes. Finally they will communicate the business and technical requirements to relevant stakeholders.

As part of their duties they will have to:

  • Identify and analyze administrative processes and communicating with stakeholders
  • Design and perform needs analysis
  • Assess the need for reviewing, simplifying and redesigning ongoing procedures
  • Model the current situation and propose solutions
  • Draft specifications
  • Write proposals and reports
  • Monitor good practices and assess potential utilization of reusable solutions or components
  • Coordinating internal resources for the flawless execution of projects
  • Developing detailed project plans, ensuring resource availability and allocation and delivering every project on time within budget and scope
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Monitor project deliverables
  • An BSc/MSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related subject is preferable, or any other University degree with proven expertise in Analysis and Public Governance.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in analysis and/or design and/or management of IT projects
  • Expertise in Information System Analysis Tools and Methodologies

  • Developed skills in process analysis and (re)design
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in Greek
  • Good writing and communication skills in English
  • Experience and knowledge on digital governance preferably on the Greek Public Sector
  • Experience in requirement collection and elicitation
  • Experience in the design of innovative IT solutions
  • Ability to write technical specifications is desired
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
