Job Description

The Governance amp; Regulation Associate contributes to the development and maintenance of PeopleCert Group Risks Policies, identifying and recording risks and supporting the implementation of mitigation strategies. In addition, this post is responsible for monitoring Ofqual and other regulator communications and requirements and preparing LanguageCert reports and returns to regulators.


As a Governance amp; Regulation Associate, your tasks will include the following:

Governance and Risk

  • Managing the Corporate Governance Manual and processes
  • Managing LanguageCert’s risk procedure and register
  • Servicing the LangageCert Board of Directors and Advisory Council, supporting the respective Chairs and arranging meetings, collating paper, producing minutes and managing action logs
  • Working with others to develop the PeopleCert group Risk Framework and capturing such risks as they are identified

Regulation

Engaging with LanguageCert’s regulators (principally Ofqual):

  • to ensure full visibility of the regulators’ requirements so that we meet our responsibilities
  • to provide information and feedback to regulators as required
  • to monitor communications from regulators
  • to interact with regulators on notifications, submissions and routine reporting
  • to maintain a positive relationship with regulators in support of LanguageCert’s corporate objectives

Other

  • Supporting the Governance amp; Regulation Manager as required to manage external stakeholders and regulatory authorities and ensure internal compliance with their requirements
  • Acting as a goodwill ambassador for PeopleCert by the courteous treatment of all customers and staff, ensuring at all times that the professionalism of the company is upheld
  • Any other tasks relevant or required from the role


What we look for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline, master’s degree, or MBA is a plus.
  • A proven track record of contract/regulatory management experience, preferably in the education sector.
  • Appropriate experience of interacting with senior management staff.
  • Excellent command of the English language (C2 level certification desired, LanguageCert C2 LTE or C2 IESOL certificate would be a plus)
  • Advanced computer literacy. ECDL Advance level certification is desirable
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A clear understanding of the importance of maintaining corporate and ethical standards.
  • Well-developed multitasking and organizational skills under tight deadlines in a fast-paced complex environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to create trust and maintain strict confidentiality
