What We Are Looking For:
As a Senior Data Scientist on the Analytics team, you will provide analytical support for all client-facing and Operations departments at Persado. The analyses and recommendations of this person will support the decision-making capability of other teams within the company.
While it is imperative for this Senior Data Scientist to have the knowledge and experience of building statistical models using various techniques, building models is not part of the role’s daily activities. At Persado, nearly all statistical models are automated. What is required of this role is the ability to interpret outputs and explain results of those models to various stakeholders.
What You Will Work On:
- Understand the theory behind the Persado product suite and be able to explain how each step of the experiment analysis process works
- Build and maintain the accuracy of reporting dashboards to monitor performance across multiple experiments
- Create prototypes of new reporting visualizations that Persado’s Product and Engineering teams can incorporate into customer-facing platforms
- Provide insights to account teams based on the results of multiple experiments
- Make recommendations on how to tackle problematic experiment results, such as detecting and correcting bias, identifying causes, etc.
- Interact with clients to understand available data and KPIs, help determine adequate reporting and analysis methods
- Answer questions from account teams and clients relating to statistics, experiment results, the Persado technology and methodology, etc. and be subject matter expert during data- and results-related meetings.
- Attend internal account-team meetings to learn about the details and status of accounts assigned to you
- Interact with other Data Analysts to check if they've faced similar scenarios in their accounts
- Make yourself available for support to other account-team members (i.e. Customer Success Managers, Brand Content Strategists, etc.)
- You are the primary provider of analytical support for the account teams at Persado, which include members of Operations, Solutions Consulting, and Customer Success
- You have a general understanding of your accounts' operational activity, i.e. how often they are running experiments and reporting experiment results
- Your analyses and recommendations support the decision-making capability of other roles within the company
- You proceed by yourself on regular tasks, but you may need to refer more complex situations to your supervisor
- Offer your point of view in account-team conversations when you believe the discussion may touch upon analytics topics (such as results, bias, test design, etc.), even though the account team may not notice that connection in advance
What You Bring:
- Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Economics or a related field
- 4+ years of related experience
- Willingness to learn and understand the Persado product suite
- Strong communication skills to explain highly technical concepts to people who don’t have a technical background
- Experience with:
- Working with statistical packages, preferably R
- Regression analysis
- Analysis methods for generalized linear models and optimization techniques
- Clustering algorithms and Data Mining techniques
- Databases and SQL
- Building analytics dashboards
- Microsoft office suite, especially Microsoft Excel
