Job Description
CareAcross is a digital health startup focusing on cancer.
We have a growing number of new and exciting services and initiatives in the pipeline, and need help in solving interesting and impactful technical challenges from infrastructure to the front-end.
For example, we are working towards applying big data and artificial intelligence frameworks to deliver predictive analytics, decision support, risk stratification etc.
Our tech stack primarily consists of Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL, all hosted on Heroku. Moreover, we currently have various micro-services, and aim to increase their number and scope with your help. Furthermore, we utilise best-of-breed technologies such as CI/CD pipeline in Heroku, Redis, ElasticSearch, GitHub amp; Git, Sentry, AWS S3, Firebase etc.
What you will work on:
- Design, develop, manage, and support web services
- Solve scalability and performance issues at an operating environment that constantly evolves and grows
- Shape the entire product development process, allowing you to also develop skills outside of software development
Requirements
What you need to have:
- Experience with Ruby / Ruby on Rails, or other technologies and frameworks.
- Some experience with relational databases.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
- Curiosity and passion to constantly learn new things.
What is nice to have:
- Familiarity with the Heroku Platform.
- Solid understanding of HTTP and RESTful web service design, implementation and maintenance.
- Knowledge of CI, CD as well as microservices orchestration.
- Some knowledge of non-relational databases (such as MongoDB, Redis, ElasticSearch).
