Code BGP, backed by venture capital, aims to disrupt the Internet security, visibility and automation landscape. We are looking for a Senior Frontend/UX Software Engineer with excellent knowledge and experience in programming web UIs and a knack for UX and layout aesthetics, to work on a new enterprise SaaS offering leveraging the open-source platform ARTEMIS. Besides on-site work at the company’s offices in Heraklion, Crete, Greece, we also welcome applications for entirely remote collaboration (timezones within UTC - UTC+4).
Responsibilities
- Design and implement (or enhance existing) web UIs, placing emphasis in UX and aesthetics.
- Communicate your technical ideas and set UI project directions.
- Scalably evaluate and enhance UX.
- Collaborate with backend engineers to spec, write, test, and deploy code that integrates with API endpoints.
- Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and designers to build elegant and modern experiences to users.
- Write clean, maintainable, scalable, and testable code.
- Troubleshoot and debug UIs.
- Gather and address technical and design requirements.
- Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
- Automate tasks wherever possible.
- Follow emerging technologies and frameworks.

Requirements
Required experience
- Working experience with modern Javascript web frameworks.
- Familiarity with browser testing.
- Good knowledge of web architecture.
- Good knowledge of HTML/CSS.
- Understanding of layout aesthetics.
- Very good unit testing and software debugging skills.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and processes.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficient command of spoken and written English.
Preferred additional experience
- Keen eye for good UX design, ability to make and contribute to design decisions.
- Working experience with the React framework and ecosystem (react-query, redux, storybook, styled-components, testing-library etc.)
- Experience with a statically typed language, preferably Typescript.
- Understanding of how to write secure frontend code and an awareness of common web application security vulnerabilities.
- Experience in server-side development (Node.js).
- Experience with web analytics tools.
- Very good software documentation skills.
- BSc/MSc in Computer Science or related discipline.
