Distribution Transportation Director
FDL GROUP, Greece

We are looking for a dynamic and high-performing Distribution amp; Transportation Director. The position holder will report to the General Manager of the group and will be responsible for implementing and initiating distribution and transportation and strategies and action plans in support of continuous improvement and the Company’s strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Lead distribution work stream projects and oversee and manage all aspects of team building, strategic planning, cost optimization and customer experience
• Ensure products transported at the lowest possible cost while executing best in class service levels for a diverse customer base
• Responsibility and obligation to ensure company compliance with all national transport laws and regulations and upholds high standards of excellence
• Develop best-in-class transportation that improve on time delivery results exceeding customers’ expectations
• Responsible for managing and continuously improving all transportation related cost
• Responsible for coordinating courier operations and services
• Own Transportation Management System in conjunction with IT function to successfully advance process execution and efficiency
• Provide overall leadership in the areas of distribution amp; transportation performance, budget amp; cost management, customer relations, continuous improvement, and team development
• Collaboration with warehouse operations, leadership and successfully managing across all internal functions

Requirements

• BA/BS degree or equivalent
• At least 10 years previous experience with strong knowledge of best practices on Distribution amp; Transportation field and the ability to drive improvements
• Experience with a WMS, and broad knowledge of transit tracking systems
• Able to prioritize, plan and manage the team of distribution amp; transportation

• Excellent relationship and management skills
• Excellent decision-making skills
• Ability to understand financial aspects of the company, including but not limited to Pamp;L statements, material impacts, contribution to profit margins, etc.
