Augmenta is a machine learning startup that develops a state-of-the-art vision system for agricultural applications that helps farmers understand the health and quality of their crops but also automates tasks such as fertilizer application. The Augmenta system consists of an on-tractor device that is running machine learning on the edge and a cloud platform that provides insightful analytics and visualizations to the user. Our system is being deployed by large agricultural companies across the world. We are venture-backed and growing fast. We are actively looking for an Embedded protocol engineer to help us take our current interfacing firmware to the next level
At Augmenta, one of the most critical challenges we face is communication and control of existing machinery. There are multiple communication protocols that different agricultural equipment manufacturers use to read information and control parts of their equipment. More specifically, the Augmenta system must communicate with a tractor's main unit, as well as the control electronics of the attached equipment (e.g. change the dosage of the fertilizer spray unit).
Currently, Augmenta does interface with most equipment that uses either several Serial protocols or ISOBUS (ISOBUS - AEF Online) for inter-communication.
You will be working with ARM-based (STM32) processors and/or Embedded Linux solutions towards making interfacing the Augmenta system a breeze! We will always be open to suggestions on optimization and improvement of our system, either in software/firmware/hardware level, so you will also be contributing to that.
The Embedded protocol engineer will report to the VP of Software.
