The role
We are looking for a hard-working, keen to learn Corporate Communication Intern to support and assist in all core team duties. Flair for communication, ease with digital tools, excellent English skills are a must.
Corporate Coms is a hub of the company with lots of foot traffic and interactions with all internal teams, the whole C-Suite and of course the CEO.
About what you will be doing
We want to bring on board an independent learner, who likes following marketing amp; coms latest trends, and can readily apply in action everything they have learned from their time at University. Routine tasks are included in the duties (maintaining excel lists, prepare media coverage reports etc) and depending the skills, one could get through this fast and focus on more challenging projects.Our Corporate Comms department has also a Marketing focus. Main tasks are:
- Media relations in a fully international environment (you get to see how a breaking story in the likes of Wall Street Journal amp; Reuters is produced, how messages are localized amp; redistributed for regional consumption in the markets we are interested in)
- Industry analyst relations with top houses Ovum, Gartner amp; Forrester
- Conferences amp; awards participation (MWC Barcelona, Africa Com Cape Town among others)
- Corporate branding (internal /external) amp; online coms (web amp; social) - Social media platform management (content, mngm, metrics)
- Copy production for all purposes (from social media posts, to ppts, boilers, thought leadership articles, press releases
Requirements
- Bachelor in Media or Marketing or equivalent
- Excellent English knowledge
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Ability to work well under pressure with track record of meeting deadlines in sometimes challenging situations
- Creative copywriting background is highly appreciated
- Strong team player
- Dependable, reliable, with clear thinking and attention to detail
