Mission: As a Senior PLSQL Developer you will need to build gradually a major understanding of the banking sector and card transactions in particular. Your mission is to support the teams with the development, design, test and implementation of complex database programs using Oracle and third-party tools. You will prioritise the demands and, if needed, delegate properly to the other team members to increase efficiencies. Your work entails quite complex projects with a great breadth of responsibility and discretion. You will be part of the developers’ team but you will also work independently. Part of your role will be to support people migrate their mindset to Oracle from older technologies.
The jobholder will be responsible to:
- Review the demands of the business analysts and translate them into system functional specifications
- Assess user demands and aim to see which of those are reasonable and practical to be coded
- Develop, design, test and implement complex database programs using Oracle and third-party tools
- Oversee the development of the people who are more junior in this technology and support the Manager to move forward
- Write clean code and be part of the reviews to provide the technological solutions to the issues
- Analyze third-party tools, check and evaluate new and upcoming technologies
Requirements
Must Have
- Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science from Polytechnic or University
- Experience with Oracle Version 10g, 11g, 12c
- Strong experience with Oracle functions, procedures, triggers, packages amp; performance tuning
- Hands-on development using Oracle PL/SQL
- Performance tune SQL, application programs and instances
- Evaluation of new and upcoming technologies
- Providing technical assistance, problem resolution and troubleshooting support
- Fair knowledge of Versioning Control tools
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in Computer Science
- JBoss Application Server
- Linux OS (RHEL distribution)
- C language
- Experience in the banking sector and/or card transactions
