Job Description
Our partner is a major European leader providing services for 50 countries in the design, creation and management of technology infrastructures and services for Financial Institutions, Central Banks, Corporations and the Public Sector. They are currently under a major strategic technological transition moving further into Java Universe and PL SQL Oracle programming.
This transition in essence means that they will be looking for an intermediate to senior level Systems /Middleware Engineer. To be successful you will need to love Middle Ware, Linux Server, Systems Functionalities, Architectures and Contemporary Technological Stacks.
Mission: As a Middleware /DevOps Engineer your mission is multifaceted. You will be required to cooperate closely with all relevant teams and connect their needs, roles, processes, concerns and architectural design constrains with the actual system. You will need to gradually gain a deep understanding of the business, the vision of the stack architecture and translate these into infrastructure demands. You will be guided by a senior person and be part of a wider team which is working in other stacks. However, you will need to study, communicate and cooperate with all senior engineers and other infrastructure specialists to reach a level of understanding that will help you increase your level.

Responsibilities
- Monitor the basic software operating system and the installed database resources. Make sure that the correct functioning is in place to cover the technological evolution and company objectives
- Follow up on the application management of the two relevant applications that run currently in JBoss, Red Hat Linux
- Administering, configuring, tuning, and troubleshooting of MiddleWare in a clustered environment
- Implementing application security in MiddleWare
- Use Jira for Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Service Now for the rest
- Provide hands on support on the deployment of all products handled by the team on all product environments
- Cooperate with other teams to configure and analyse products functionality. Vendors, Developers, Business Analysts
- Execute Stress Tests within your competence. Gradually learn to design tests
- Depending on the product. Run simulators, JMeter, SoapUI
- Depending on your level of competence perform functionality analysis and provide application consulting
- Monitor the supported products with corporate tools in order to prevent possible system failures. Kibana, Grafana, Dynatrace, Promitheus etc.
- Be accountable with your self to crate and maintain the documentation for internal use and external audits
- MS Office suite, Confluence
- Develop automations like Jenkins, Ansible, scripts etc
- Cooperate with international teams of System Admins, DBAs, BAs, Architects, Operators, Release/Change management
Requirements
The Absolute Minimum:
- 5-10 years of related technical experience in application management
- RedHat Linux server experience is a must
- Fair understanding of security configuration taking into consideration also security issues in the design phase
- Theoretical understanding working with Middleware is a strong asset. WebLogic, JBoss / WildFly, Apache or/and Tomcat
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related subject
- Fluent in Greek and Business Level of English
More than the Minimum:
- Experience in Card Banking Transactions
- RedHat as related to JBoss engineering design, development and implementation
- SSL certificate implementation would be considered a plus
- Good understanding of Java policy configuration
- Tools like Elastic, Kibana and Grafana or similar
- ORACLE DB /PL-SQL knowledge is a good addition
- Understanding of install, diagnostics, automation, and support would be an asset
- Master’s degree in Computer Science and / or relevant Certifications
- Italian language skills will be highly appreciated
