DevOps Engineer (Junior - mid level)

We are looking for a passionate DevOps engineer with a strong "get things done" attitude and attention to detail to join our engineering team. Junior and mid-level Engineers are encouraged to apply.

• We offer a wide range of products; domain-specific Recommendation engines, human behavior predictive models, vision-based object and action detection modules, and Natural Language Processing programs.

What we do

• VAIX creates deeply integrated and powerful corporate AI solutions, enabling B2C internet businesses to utilize the power of machine learning for their customers and operations.
• Build Machine learning algorithms
• Receive/store/transform/ hundreds of Gigabytes/tens of millions rows of data per day
• Process hundreds of API requests per second from customers and respond back with low latency

Requirements

If you

• Are an advanced Linux user
• Have a good command of the English language, in spoken and written forms
• Have familiarity with Docker container and Docker compose
• Have familiarity with orchestration tools (especially Rancher and Kubernetes)
• Want to automate everything using tools like Ansible or Puppet
• Have familiarity with Continuous Integration tools (GitLab CI)
• Have familiarity with monitoring tools (like Zabbix, Grafana and Kibana)
• Are eager to constantly learn state of the art technologies and experiment with them
• Have knowledge of network concepts and protocols is a plus
• Know what iptables is and how to properly secure a server is a plus
• Have familiarity with DB setup and administration (Postgres, MongoDB and ElasticSearch) is a plus
• Have experience in cloud based applications that scale to thousands of requests and Terabytes of data is a plus
• Have background in operating and scaling distributed applications using the above tools (preferred) or similar ones is a plus
• Have hands-on experience in remote setup and operation of Linux servers is a plus
• Live in Athens, Greece or Kyiv, Ukraine is a plus

Responsibilities

• Monitor and provide 1st level support on running services
• Implement and optimize different parts of the infrastructure, including but not limited to server commissioning, orchestration, server security, DB setup,monitoring, and alerting
• Collaborate with your team members to continually improve working processes and share knowledge
