Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the UI/UX work for a product or its part, driving the effort across the whole product lifecycle from research and ideation to the design deliverables
- Work as part of a cross-functional team with design, engineering and product management, contributing to our rapid development process
- Design and maintain user interface components to create consistently high-quality designs
- Contribute to and maintain our evolving design system, evangelize the use of design systems and style/brand guidelines to create consistent user experience across the product(s)
- Sketch, wireframe and create interactive prototypes for testing and development
- Solving complex UX/UI problems that satisfy business requirements, user goals, all working within technical and time constraints
- Effectively communicate and present work to internal stakeholders, and hand over technical design assets ready for development
- Act as an advocate for the adoption of the best UX practices and processes
Requirements
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or formal training in a design field or Computer Science or Human Computer Interaction
- 3+ years working as a UX and/or UI designer
- Demonstrate a strong portfolio of user interface design in web SaaS applications (quality over quantity), with the ability to understand, navigate, and design for complex knowledge/search-oriented landscapes
- Comprehend complex Information Architecture, understanding structure and flow to create the optimal user experience for any given scenario
- Excellent knowledge of design systems; designing systems of re-usable components, and not just a collection of pages
- Excellent knowledge of the English language (verbal and written)
- Mastery of design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, InVision, Adobe creative suite
- Demonstration of collaboration with product and engineering teams in an agile environment
Preferred requirements
- Experience in designing SaaS products for Life Science (biology, science, pharma) business domain is an advantage
- Data visualisation experience, atomic/design system principles, lean UX
- Working in a fast-paced startup environment, or designing for enterprise
