What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a Category Manager to own and scale one of our category groups by making sure that we have the most compelling proposition for our Consumers and Merchants. In this role, you will become the go-to-expert/"business owner" of the product category you will be managing, responsible for devising the right growth strategy and for overseeing all execution-related matters. You will work closely with all internal groups to determine how we can continuously improve our offering.
Requirements
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Act as category business owner and expert, overseeing end-to-end category performance
- Have a thorough understanding of the user journey, from discovery to fulfillment and fitting, and identify potential challenges and opportunities on it
- Get in the merchants’ shoes and help build a value proposition that makes sense for all parties involved
- Be the go-to person of the company for all category-related initiatives amp; projects
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to improve category performance
- Work with Product to identify functionality gaps and build unique features
- Have Pamp;L ownership over the category, overseeing all key trade-offs and decisions
- Set quarterly targets for category growth and profitability, and monitor our progress
- Ensure we have a compelling consumer/merchant proposition, looking after all "health" metrics
- Work with our Partners and Content teams to develop a really strong offering
- Guide our Merchandising / promotional efforts to maximize category performance
Your skills and experience
Experience
- 4+ years in Commercial management / Consulting / Pamp;L ownership / Growth / Business roles
- Experience in eCommerce with an analytical / mgmt. consulting / startup background
- Degree in Engineering, Sciences, Economics, Business, or equivalent
- Experience in leading small/medium-sized teams
Skills
- Ability to independently lead and execute large, cross-functional projects
- Strong communication, alignment, and collaboration skills
- Highly analytical and structured in your decision-making process and a problem-solving attitude
- Strong commercial/marketing acumen
- Passion for technology and for disrupting consumer/merchant experiences
- Humble, eager to learn, willing to roll-up sleeves when necessary
