ELPEDISON, with its two privately-owned power plants in Thisvi (Voiotia) and Thessaloniki, with a total installed capacity of 820 MW, uses natural gas as fuel and ensures a clean and continuous electricity flow, based on a highly environmentally-friendly power generation process.
The position
We are currently looking for aData Cloud Platforms Section Headin ourDigital Informationdivision, to develop and maintain an integrated set of technologies that collectively meet the organisation's end-to-end data needs, enabling the acquisition, storage, preparation and delivery of data. As a Data Cloud Plaltforms Head you will ensure data integrity and data availability across all Data Platforms, adhering to the Data Management Framework.
Responsibilities
- Manage data platforms as well as the relevant integration mechanisms. (big data, datalakes, DW, ETL, ELT, etc)
- Develop logical and physical data flow models for ETL procedures
- Implement architectural solutions pertaining to the Data Platforms and peripheral tools and applications
- Be responsible for data archiving and maintenance in databases
- Collaborate with other Business Units to evaluate and validate results
- Utilise existing and new tools to visualise and present results (e.g. BI Tools etc.)
- Develop data validation reports for the Data Platforms (scorecards), based on defined KPIs and thresholds
- Manage the Data Platforms Section to achieve the agreed goals
Requirements
- A BSc in on Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics or relevant field
- Post-graduate studies in relevant field will be considered an asset
- Minimum 6 years of professional experience in Data Engineering or Data Platforms
- Strong experience with ETL techniques in order to integrate data from various sources
- Excellent understanding of cloud-based data solutions including data lakes, data warehouses and ETL pipelines (AWS, MS Azure etc)
- Very good understanding of data flow modelling and cloud-based solution development standards
- Experience with data pipelines scalability, reliability, and performance, ensuring that data is processed efficiently and accurately
- Understanding of data architecture principles
- Understanding data and query optimization, query profiling, and query performance monitoring tools and techniques.
- Hands-on knowledge of Data Visualization Tools like Tableau, Power BI, or other BI tools to create complex charts, graphs, and dashboards that are easy to understand
