We’re now looking for a full-time Head of Sales and Marketing at SlashData reporting directly to the CEO. You will have strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills and will possess in-depth knowledge of sales and marketing. You’ll be working remotely based in Europe, with our distributed team.
Requirements
Who we’re looking for:
- Experience in building robust sales and marketing strategies aligned with overall company strategy.
- Experienced in sales forecasting, analysing sales and marketing funnel data (to identify leaks and optimise conversion rates) and providing regular reporting.
- Experience managing budgets, timelines and resources effectively to execute sales and marketing initiatives and annual planning.
- A proven track record in generating high sales revenues and exceeding targets; month in, month out.
- Experienced in managing both high profile clients and partners, building up rapport and negotiating beneficial terms.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to comprehend the needs of our customers and create innovative solutions to address customer problems.
- Strong understanding of the target audience, market trends, and competitor landscape.
- Familiarity with marketing tools, technologies, and trends.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision; a high proportion of our clients are based in the US so working within this timezone is essential.
- Experience in recruiting, training and upskilling sales and marketing teams.
- Experience using CRM tools - we use Zoho.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to inspire and build high performing teams.
- Growth mindset and a 360 commercial understanding of both sales and marketing strategies.
What you'll be doing:
- You will own the results of the sales and marketing teams as a whole.
- Managing the sales and marketing teams; you will have up to 5-6 direct reports.
- Communicating the sales and marketing forecasts and targets / ensuring targets are met.
- Developing and executing the sales and marketing strategy developed at the start of each year.
- Analysing metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), sales funnel, lead generation funnel and other data to measure the effectiveness of strategies and campaigns.
- Creating and driving the strategic vision for client-centric product marketing.
- Owning the optimisation of the lead generation funnel.
- Providing regular reports and updates to the Leadership Team / Board of Directors on performance.
- Collaborating with key departments across the company to align sales and marketing strategies with operations, tech, and production teams.
- Effectively delegating tasks and empowering team members whilst providing guidance and support.
- Team member development; running 3 month reviews with direct reports, providing feedback and guidance to the team members for long term growth and development.
- Representing SlashData via event participation and active engagement on social media.
- Creating and fostering a network of strategic partners.
- Continuously improving product marketability and profitability goals.
- Recruiting new hires for both teams when required.

Key success metrics:
You will be successful in the role if in the first 6 months you have:
- Improved Lead conversion rate by at least 1%.
- Fostered the relationship with two new Strategic Partners.
- Reached End of Quarter Targets in Research Sales.
