BMC ITSM Consultant Responsibilities:

  • Requirements Analysis, Solution Design, Implementation, Customisation, Integration
  • Troubleshooting, Upgrades and Maintenance

Requirements

Soft Skills:

  • Communication: Effective communication of technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, acting as a cultural mediator.
  • Consultation Skills: Ability to consult with clients, understand their business needs, and translate them into effective BMC ITSM solutions
  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills to collaborate with diverse teams, including IT professionals, end-users, and management
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing technology landscapes and evolving client requirements
  • Problem-solving: Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address challenges and optimize ITSM processes.
  • Customer Focus: A customer-centric approach to ensure solutions meet client expectations and contribute to business goals.
  • Project Management: Basic project management skills for organizing tasks and ensuring successful project delivery.
  • Continuous Learning: Commitment to ongoing learning, staying updated on BMC ITSM advancements, industry trends, and emerging technologies.

Hard Skills:

  • Education: MEng in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Software Engineering. Alternatively people who have followed a strong coding school at some point of their lives and have worked for about three years as software engineers/developers
  • BMC ITSM Expertise: Experience with BMC ITSM in large, complex organisations would be the ideal. However, working with Operations Management Tools and Service Management Tools is more than OK. Also working as a consultant or in the parametrization of CRM, MRP or ERP systems in complex organizations.
  • Integration.Using REST APIs: Proficient in working with REST APIs for seamless integration of ITSM solutions.
  • ITIL Principles: Understanding of ITIL principles for aligning IT services with business needs.
  • Coding Language Experience: Any coding language experience, with a focus on understanding programming principles.
  • Reporting Tools: Experience using Grafana, YellowFin will be highly appreciated.
  • RDBMS Declarative Principles: Proficient in SQL/PLSQL and declarative principles for efficient data management within ITSM solutions.
  • Object-Oriented Programming (OOP): Expertise in OOP for structured code design and application development.
  • SOLID Principles in Code Design: Familiarity with SOLID principles for code maintainability and scalability.
  • Transition to Low Coding: At least willingness to transition from traditional to low coding, incorporating ITIL principles.
