The job description typically includes:
Demand Forecasting:Utilize historical data, market trends, and input from sales and marketing teams to develop accurate demand forecasts for products.
Collaboration:Work closely with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to gather information on market trends, promotions, and new product launches that may impact demand.
Data Analysis:Analyze demand patterns, seasonality, and other relevant data to improve forecasting accuracy. Use statistical models and forecasting tools to support predictions.
Forecast Accuracy:Monitor and report on the accuracy of demand forecasts, making adjustments as needed to enhance precision.
Supply Chain Coordination:Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to align production and purchasing activities with forecasted demand.
Market Research:Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and changes in customer behavior that may affect demand.
Communication:Communicate regularly with various stakeholders, providing updates on demand forecasts, potential issues, and recommended actions.
Performance Metrics:Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to demand planning, such as forecast accuracy and inventory turnover.
Continuous Improvement:Implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the demand planning process.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work across departments to ensure a seamless flow of information and alignment of demand planning activities with broader business goals.
New Product Introductions:Collaborate with product development and marketing teams to forecast demand for new products entering the market.
Technology Utilization:Utilize demand planning software and tools to automate and streamline forecasting processes.
The Demand Planner plays a crucial role in optimizing inventory levels, reducing costs, and ensuring customer satisfaction by aligning supply with projected demand.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Engineering, Logistics or a related field.
- At least 3 years of working experience in Demand Planning management, preferably in cosmetics or pharma industry
- Knowledge of SAP R/3 (SAP S/4HANA) and Microsoft Office
- Fluent in English
- Strong understanding of the supply amp; demand process
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Technical knowledge and understanding of integrated software systems
- Strong communication skills to interact with sales, marketing and supply chain team members
- Attention to detail and ability to focus on numbers for long periods
- Sound judgment using available data
- Ability to work under pressure in a volatile environment driven by commercial trends
