We are currently looking for a Senior IT Project Manager based in Viva HQ in Athens to join our IT Department.
The ideal candidate will be responsible of planning and executing mid- and large-scale IT Projects, coordinating activities and resources from different departments and outside providers, while monitoring the projects’ progress in order to ensure the timely and effective fulfilment of the project scope and targets according to plan and standards.
More specifically, as a Senior IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Defining the project's scope, objectives, and requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Identifying and allocating resources as applicable based on internal procedures, including personnel, equipment, and budget, to ensure the project's successful completion.
- Developing and managing project schedules, assigning tasks, and tracking progress to ensure the project stays on track and meets deadlines.
- Identifying and mitigating project risks, developing contingency plans, and monitoring risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Communicating project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders, including senior management, team members, and customers.
- Ensuring that the project meets the required quality standards, and that testing and quality assurance activities are carried out appropriately.
- Managing changes to the project scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring that changes are properly documented and communicated to stakeholders.
- Building and managing the project team, providing leadership, motivation, and support to team members.
- Negotiating and managing contracts with external vendors or contractors.
- Ensuring that the project is completed successfully, including finalizing project documentation, conducting post-project evaluations, and transitioning the project deliverables to the appropriate stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong academic background in relevant Information Technology subject, or related equivalent work experience
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in managing significant IT projects including Software, Security and Infrastructure Projects
- Prior working experience in business analysis and software development
- Experience managing complex, large-scale, cross-functional initiatives, IT programs or IT projects under time constraints and ability to deliver results
- Manage scope of IT Projects to ensure delivery on time and on budget
- Understanding of the interdependencies of the IT Projects with the IT Landscape
- Proven ability to manage teams and drive change
- Monitor Project budget consumption and vendor management
- Manage escalations and issues / risks associated with a particular project
- Ability to communicate project scope, status and issues with corporate executives and stakeholders
- Excellent knowledge of Greek and English language
- Banking experience and managing banking systems is a plus
- Formal PM Certifications will be considered a plus
