Within just a couple of years, our team grew up more than 80%, we moved into a new spacious and modern office, and we kicked off 2023 with several new and exciting projects in digital transformation, custom software and robotics.

We are now looking for an experienced Senior Big Data Engineer with strong technical skills and solid working experience to work with our in-house software team in new challenging projects.

• Design, develop and support data pipelines and distributed systems for processing and analyzing large-scale data sets.
• Collaborate with data scientists and product owners to develop data models, algorithms, and predictive analytics applications.
• Optimize and fine-tune the performance of Big Data applications to ensure they can handle large volumes of data with acceptable latency.
• Build and maintain robust data security and privacy controls across all data stores.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and advances in the big data ecosystem to ensure the company stays at the forefront of the field.
• Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior data engineers.
• Lead projects from conception to deployment, with a focus on efficiency and scalability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in big data engineering on Hadoop, Spark, or similar platforms.
• Demonstrable experience with distributed processing frameworks such as Spark, Flink, and/or Hadoop.
• Deep understanding of big data architecture principles, including data modelling, data ingestion, ETL, and data governance.
• Solid expertise in one or more programming languages, such as Java, Scala, or Python.
• Skilled in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration of big data workloads.
• Knowledge of machine learning and deep learning algorithms and their implementation on big data platforms a plus.
