Job Description
We are looking for a Data Scientist to join the Data Science team!
You will be involved in a variety of projects, mainly hands-on but also through planning and coordinating with the rest of the team. You will also help the team improve operationally and contribute to our team's vision, be part of a team with a wide range of skills where you will be able to develop and grow.
The Data Science team is responsible for the entire ML ecosystem of Orfium. We handle everything from the experimentation and research to the development of production-ready ML systems that we then deploy with the help of our MLOps engineers.
The projects we work on come from a variety of teams and allow us to use a wide range of techniques and approaches. Historically, some of the areas we have worked on are audio and video recognition, metadata matching and general NLP, tagging and classification.
We are looking for an independent Data Scientist who enjoys having ownership but also working as part of a team working towards a set of common goals.

- Owning projects and leading them to successful completion.
- Communicating and presenting results.
- Working with and improving the team’s best practices.
- Working closely with the MLOps/Software engineering team for the deployment of your work.
- Helping and contributing to the team vision, hiring and overall planning.

Requirements
What you need to be successful!
- 3 years of working experience in a data science or similar team
- Proficiency in Python programming language and Machine Learning libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, or similar)
- Comfortable with ML and DS techniques and a good knowledge of the state-of-the-art technologies.
- Curious and interested in new technologies and approaches.
- Analytical and with the ability to set requirements and break problems into smaller tasks.
- BSc in Computer Science or Engineering or related field.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- English language (verbal amp; written)
Extra points!
- Masters relevant to machine learning or data science.
- Prior experience with big data or high throughput systems.
- Previous working experience in a cloud-native environment (preferably AWS).
- Experience with approximate nearest neighbors methods and vector databases.
