Job Description

Actionline is currently seeking on behalf of its client BBI - Intrakat RT Joint Venturefor a Construction Equipment Site Engineer to build the Riviera Tower in Ellinikon, Greece. This iconic structure, with 50 storeys and a height of 200m, will stand as the highest building in Greece.

The purpose of this role is to ensure all machinery and equipment on the project operate seamlessly and efficiently. The selected candidate’s expertise will ensure the project stays on schedule, adheres to safety standards, and meets the consortium’s high expectations for quality.

The position is based in Athens, Greece, and reports to [the Production Manager]

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Equipment Oversight: Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot all construction machinery and equipment on site, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all equipment adheres to local and international safety standards. Conduct routine inspections and safety checks.
  • Equipment Logistics: Coordinate the transportation, delivery, and setup of heavy machinery and construction equipment on site.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with site supervisors, project managers, and operators to understand equipment needs, availability, and scheduling.
  • Maintenance: Develop and oversee a preventive maintenance schedule for all equipment. Ensure prompt repairs and servicing to minimize downtime.
  • Training: Provide training to operators and construction personnel on the safe and efficient operation of machinery.
  • Supplier Liaison: Coordinate with equipment suppliers and rental companies. Ensure quality, timely delivery, and adherence to contract terms.
  • Reporting: Keep meticulous records of equipment usage, maintenance, and performance. Provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identify potential equipment issues and develop strategies to address them efficiently.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest advancements in construction machinery and best practices in equipment maintenance.

Professional experience amp; qualifications of a successful candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field. Let’s specify this.
  • 5+ years of experience as an Equipment Engineer, within the construction industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction machinery, their operations, and maintenance requirements.
  • Familiarity with Greek regulations concerning construction equipment safety and operations.
  • Proficient in relevant software tools for equipment tracking and maintenance scheduling.
  • Fluent in English and the Greek language.
