Job Description

ManpowerGroup Greece, on behalf of its client, a Spanish company that offers comprehensive global transport solutions, is seeking a Mechanical Assembly Manager for the company's project based in Volos.

The Mechanical Assembly Manager reports to the deputy Production Manager and is responsible for the train mechanical assembly activities, after the painting process until delivery to testing.

Responsibilities:

Takes part in the assembly of the first train in Spain, with the aim of:

  • Learning the assembly process of the different mechanical areas of the train.
  • Making an exhaustive list of all parts that are assembled again, including hardware.
  • Controlling the parts to be reassembled, with code to identify each part in its position, car, and train.
  • Defining parts to be replaced from the disassembled parts.
  • Providing Engineering with the necessary information on parts to be replaced, to be able to code and issue lists of materials: quantities, characteristics, treatments, etc. If the information is not available, samples must be obtained.
  • Reviewing the Drawings, Instruction Sheets, and Control Sheets, which will have been prepared by Industrialization, and suggest modifications and additions.
  • Validating mechanical assembly.
  • Defining the tools and consumables required for each operation.

Manages the Mechanical Assembly Team in Volos, and is responsible for:

  • Ensuring that activities are completed on time, according to the production plan.
  • Ensuring that the Instruction Sheets are used and that both control cards and checklists are completed in real time.
  • Validating the bill of materials, requesting materials and consumables from the Warehouse, and ensuring that they are available to technicians on time.
  • Ensuring the fulfillment of Quality objectives.
  • Fulfilling the responsibilities in the areas of Occupational Safety, Quality and Product Safety, Occupational Risk Prevention, and the Environment.
  • Implementing the legal requirements of occupational health and safety.
  • Identifying and preventing risks in the workplace.
  • Maintaining the Quality on Non-Conformities (NCR's) detected in their area.
  • Controlling, collecting, and allocating the team’s reports.
  • Ensuring the proper maintenance of the equipment.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent academic background.
  • Minimum two years' experience in the industrial/manufacturing field as a Production or Shift Supervisor.
  • Experience in train maintenance will be considered an asset.
  • Fluency in English language.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Available to stay, for the first 4-6 months, in Spain for its training process.
